Hi friends,
I decided today to write a blog post on women that have motivated me over the course of my life. I’m lucky to have been impacted by so many wonderful women who have been proven to be straight #girlbosses. These women have impacted and inspired me in some way shape or form. I was curious to see who has inspired these women to make them determined to be the person they are today. I asked some of my favorite #girlbosses and people to name their favorite women in history.

                   Brooke Borlie-Physician Assistant

“When I think about a woman in history who motivates me, I think of Mother Teresa. As I prepare to enter the world as a Physician Assistant, her devotion to others drives me to be the best provider I can be. A particular quote from her resonates with me the most: “Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing”. No matter what kind of day I am having, my goal is to always have a smile on my face in an effort to have a positive impact on my family, colleagues, and future patients.”

“And the woman in history who motivates me the most is Michelle Obama. She shows that no matter where you come from with hard work and motivation you can study at the best universities in the world and become such a positive influence on so many young individuals especially when it comes to health and education. These things had become very overlooked in our society but she brought them back into the light and used her influence to have a very positive impact on the generations who will soon be the ones in charge”

“Oprah is my inspiration! She came from nothing and made such a big empire! She never let what people say her get to her! She worked her way up into this world. She showed that hard work and dedication can get you far!”

Stephanie Bruno-Teacher

“Eve Ensler is one of my biggest inspirations. She’s the author of some of my favorite feminist texts and a famous American playwright. She wrote “The Vagina Monologues”, is a cancer survivor, and actively fights for women’s rights!”

“Michelle Obama is an influential woman in history that inspires me through her dedication to this country and empowering another woman to achieve and succeed.”

Lottie Smalley-Host of “HerFive Podcast”

“Ever since Hidden Figures was released last year, I have been so inspired by Katherine Johnson! She never let anyone stop her from doing what she loved.”

Liz McDonald-HPEX

“Mae Jesmison was the first female black astronaut and made a foundation to makes science more accessible for children. I love science.”

Shea Finny-Teacher

“Queen Elizabeth I is the person I would pick as most inspirational. She was an exceptional ruler and made England a powerhouse.”

Emily Ann-Fashion Blogger

“A women in history that inspire me would be Marilyn Monroe because she was never afraid to show her true self and be exactly who she is. She didn’t care what anyone else thought about her and that is kinda how I live my life. She was so ahead of her time at a size 12 modeling, and I love that about her. I am the type of person that get inspired by people who are themselves, that doesn’t hide behind a fake persona. We are all human, we are all different sizes and live different lives but at the end of the day, we are all here for each other. We should inspire each other every day and uplift the women around us!”
